ABOUT Us

“Saaya Touching lives” is a registered not for profit organisation based in Sydney, Australia.

"The main objective of Saaya is to support the needy, by organising fundraising events every year In 2016, Saaya started off as a thought – to do something for less privileged and giving back to the community. With the help of family and friends, that thought transformed into formation of a organisatin by the name of “Saaya Touching Lives"

Saaya is Urdu for the ‘shadow’ that always follows those in need. This charitable ‘shadowing’ began in 2016 in Sydney, Australia, born from a sincere desire to help the less privileged in our community and in so doing, to uplift and help that community grow. In this way, we believe that when our community prospers so do we all ! And with the generous assistance of friends and family, that desire to give back to our wider community soon grew into the organisation, Saaya Touching Lives.
Through yearly fundraising events, with funds raised from both ticket sales and generous donations from individuals and businesses, Saaya has built a charitable platform for the distribution of funds to those in need. It is our sincere desire, that through this platform we might help spread the word on the good work performed by individuals and organisations that help those in need.

Children in Need

One such initiative that Saaya actively supports is the Children’s Orphanage run by the Sarvodaya Youth Organisation(SYO) in Telangana state, India. This non- governmental and non-profit organisation is dedicated to the alleviation of poverty in its community through sustainable development that protects the environment. One of its primary goals is the protection of young orphaned children, with its Children’s Orphanage currently providing a safe and nurturing home environment, healthy food and an education for more than 50 such disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

Farmers in Need

Saaya also supports the Sarvodaya Youth Organisation’s sustainable farming program in Telangana state, as well as the NAAM Foundation’s rural development initiative in Maharashtra, India.

Agriculture is the mainstay of the rural Indian economy, providing a basic living for farmers and their communities. These poor rural communities remain highly vulnerable to crop failures caused by natural disasters such as drought, as well as declining groundwater catchments due to overuse of irrigation exacerbated by climate change. They are also overburdened by debts due to heavy investments in conventional farming techniques using industrial pesticides and
Saaya Touching Lives is committed to supporting those organizations that are helping these farming communities overcome economic and environmental hardship through developing modern, sustainable organic farming practices.

We at Saaya Touching Lives sincerely believe that by giving generously to those in need, we help build a better world not just for the less privileged in our community but also for ourselves and our children. We invite you to share the benefits of that generosity with us!
